Romania switches to summer time on the night from Saturday to Sunday, when 03:00 will become 04:00.

Many people complain that, with the time change, they also experience some adjustment problems.

The doctor Vlad Ciurea explained, on Antena3, what happens in the human brain when the time changes and comes with tips for an easier adaptation.

“We have a biological clock in our brain. It’s not up to us. Maybe it came from above. It has a certain rhythm which is called circadian rhythm. If the sun’s rays come an hour earlier in Romania, we also have to adapt.

Adaptation is very simple, we wake up an hour earlier. We can function well, in perfect activity, an hour earlier. We have to use the beam of light to start. If God gave us this light an hour earlier, we must use it fully to be able to work”, said Dr. Ciurea.

Romania switches to summer time this weekend

This year, the switch to summer time takes place on the night of March 30 to 31. Thus, Sunday, March 31, becomes the shortest day of the year, after 3:00 a.m. becomes 4:00 a.m. and will have only 23 hours.

According to the current European Union legislation, it switches to summer time on the last Sunday of March and returns to the initial time on the last Sunday of October.

Currently, almost 60% of the world’s countries do not change their clocks twice a year, and since the end of last year, two more countries have stopped changing their time.

During summer time, the clock goes forward one hour (3:00 becomes 4:00). In winter time, the operation is reversed, the clocks go back one hour and 4:00 becomes 3:00. Read more…
