Harghita military firefighters acted yesterday, March 28, to manage the 8 requests received from the population, consisting in providing first aid measures and extinguishing two fires: one caused by the chimney not cleaned of soot of a apartment block located on Aluniș street, in the municipality of Toplița and another, which broke out at a garbage dump, in the municipality of Odorheiu Secuiesc, in both cases the firefighters prevented the spread of the flames to the neighborhoods and limited the material damage.

Simultaneously with the missions carried out, for the protection of the population, in the last 24 hours, 4 warning messages were sent through the RO-ALERT system, regarding the presence of dangerous animals (bears), in the towns of Sândominic and Cristuru Secuiesc.

Given that our county is under a CODE YELLOW meteorological warning of wind intensifications, with speeds generally of 55…65 km/h, and in the Eastern Carpathians, at high altitudes, the gusts will exceed 90 km/h, the operative subunits of the ISU remain mobilized for immediate intervention in the event of emergency situations and the provision of first aid to persons in difficulty.

During the weather warning, we recommend that you avoid areas with billboards, trees or power poles that may be down. Do not pass by buildings under construction or that have architectural elements that can be blown away by the wind, and do not take shelter near improvised constructions.

Stop outdoor activities and take shelter in housing or in spaces that ensure your protection! Park cars in safe places! Do not touch the wires that have fallen to the ground!
