It seems that the representatives of the town hall cannot agree on the term when the rehabilitation works started on the ring road of the municipality will be completed. They advance different terms and thus mislead the citizens of Botošan.
The issue of potholes on the Ring Road has been raised by countless citizens and local councillors. Consequently, on February 28, the rehabilitation works of Mihail Kogălniceanu and Pacea streets were started.
According to what was sent by the representatives of the mayor’s office, the rehabilitation of this section includes works to restore the sidewalks, the accesses in the housing blocks, the replacement or repair of the sewers and drains, milling, stripping, leveling and laying asphalt carpet. The money needed for rehabilitation is allocated from the local budget. However, the total amount required for these repairs remains unknown and will be determined when the work is completed.
“Rehabilitation is carried out under the chapter “Repairs and maintenance of streets”. Thus, the works are executed by the company contracted by Botoșani City Hall for this chapter, CONREC. The value can be determined at the closing of the works. The repairs on the two streets are carried out in parallel. Depending on technical details and weather conditions, it is estimated that the works will be completed in about 5 weeks”, the representatives of the town hall sent on Thursday, March 28.
What does the mayor say?
It’s just that, also today, in the CL plenary session, mayor Cosmin Andrei had a different opinion about the term by which the works will be completed. Although he didn’t give a specific date either, he was keen to point out that the section will be ready in about 1-2 weeks. Basically, he cut more than half of the deadline communicated by one of his advisers, a few hours before, to the “Monitorul” reporters.
“We are also considering the Suceva – Manolești section, but let’s finalize it, make a calculation and see the financial situation with this first section (Mihail Kogălniceanu-Pacea), which the people of Botoșan asked me, which you requested by you and which will be ready in a week, two, I estimate”, declared the mayor Cosmin Andrei.
