The road, 19 kilometers long, has been completed and, says the president of the Bihor County Council, Ilie Bolojan, will decongest traffic in Oradea, but especially in the rural towns through which the old access road to the Transilvania Highway passed:

This project is very important! It connects Bihor County with Transilvania Highway, which is 15 kilometers north of Oradea. The opening of this section will decongest traffic in the metropolitan area, reduce the number of accidents and make Oradea directly connected to Europe. (Ilie Bolojan)

The express road that connects Oradea with the A3 it was the first infrastructure project carried out based on a partnership between a local authority and the Road Company.

In 2016, the collaboration protocol was signed, which stipulated that the Bihor county administration takes care of the studies and handover of the site, and CNAIR provides the financing.

Present at the reception procedures, Prime Minister Marcel Ciolacu revealed that this section of expressway is part of the Three Seas Initiative, which provides for the creation of a network of transport links between the Baltic Sea, the Black Sea and the Adriatic Sea:

We have undertaken the Three Seas Initiative, this section is part of the high-speed road that will create a road link between the Baltic Sea, the Adriatic Sea and then, on existing or under construction highways, to the Black Sea. (Marcel Ciolacu)

The completion of the 19 kilometers of express road is only part of a larger project, developed in collaboration with the Arad administration.

The President of the Bihor County Council, Ilie Bolojan, reminds that there is a protocol that provides for the connection of the municipalities of Arad and Oradea through a high-speed road:

In fact, this is the end of the Arad – Oradea expressway. From this completed section, the express road will continue and, practically, the connection will be made between the two highways of Romania at the western end. (Ilie Bolojan)

The Oradea – Arad expressway will be the second direct link between A1 and A3, after Autostrada 10, more recently also called Autostrada Apuseni, which starts in Turda and ends in Sebeș.
