FDGR Sibiu announced, on Thursday, its candidates for the local elections in Sibiu. Astrid Fodor will enter the race for a new mandate at the City Hall, this being the last time she will run.

Astrid Fodor, the current mayor of Sibiu, will run for a new mandate. This is the last time he does that, Fodor said with a laugh at Thursday’s candidate launch conference at FDGR headquarters. “Regarding a new candidacy, know that I also look at the bulletin from time to time. So I categorically assure you that there will not be a second candidacy”, said Astrid Fodor.

Astrid Fodor has shown that, if she wins the elections, she intends to complete her mandate. “I feel empowered, both mentally and physically! I’m not a quitter,” Fodor added.

Astrid Fodor is 70 years old. The representative of the Democratic Forum of Germans in Romania (FDGR), Astrid Fodor, who was deputy mayor between 2008-2014, was elected on December 2, 2014, with an overwhelming majority, as interim mayor of Sibiu, succeeding Klaus Iohannis. Fodor was elected in 2014, in the Sibiu City Council, mayor of Sibiu, with 21 votes for and two against. Later, he ran in 2016 and 2020, winning the elections. (DETAILS HERE)
