Horia Constantinescu resigns from the position of ANPC president, after becoming the PSD candidate for Constanta City Hall

The President of the National Authority for Consumer Protection, Horia Constantinescu, resigns from his position after becoming the PSD candidate for Constanţa City Hall. He specifies that he remains “deputy chief commissioner of the Constanţa County Commissionerate (suspended)”. “With all the lack of modesty, I wrote a page of history in the book of authority”, says Constantinescu about his activity at ANPC.

“I offer a cup of coffee for each of you, those who showed me the support that mobilized me throughout the two years as president of the authority. Probably some of you already know that I was nominated as the candidate of the Social Democratic Party for the position of mayor of the city of Constanţa. By the force of things, I have to give up the position of president in order to dedicate myself to the campaign and the new project. With all the lack of modesty, I wrote a page of history in the book of authority”, wrote Horia Constantinescu on Facebook.

In his opinion, he leaves “a functional institution, with important steps taken towards digitization, with renovated premises, with a new approach and with notable performances”.

“However, I remain in this great family, as deputy chief commissioner of the Constanţa County Commissionerate (suspended). I am experiencing the sensation of a divorce by agreement, but the thought of remarrying with Constanţa City Hall motivates me enormously. I prepare the share; I leave the authority with several hundred additional hours, projects and a positive visibility. I have wonderful memories and an impeccable reputation in this position”, concludes Constantinescu.

The leadership of PSD Constanța announced on Wednesday evening the candidacy of Horia Constantinescu for Constanţa City Hall. On the same day, statements by Horia Constantinescu regarding “dyed chicken meat” caused vehement reactions in the public space.
