The director of the Suceava Sports Program High School, Ciprian Anton, hopes that the school’s under-17 football team will play in the Romanian Cup final. On Wednesday, March 27, the team coached by Andrei Ițco defeated the LPS Satu Mare team 2-0 at home with goals scored by Cristian David and Florin Scutariu, and thus qualified for the semifinals of the competition. Daco-Getica Bucharest, former Juventus Bucharest, Player Bucharest and the junior team of the second league team CSC 1599 Șelimbăr also qualified. According to Mr. Anton, the best team would be Player Bucharest, because it is at the level of FCSB, Dinamo and Rapid. Ciprian Anton wanted to thank the students, coach Andrei Ițco, but also the entire football department at LPS. In a telephone interview with Radio Top, the director of LPS said: “Last year we stopped in the quarters. Rapid Bucharest eliminated us and we have every conviction and hope that we will play the final. We want the semi-final match to be played at the stadium”. The draw took place, and LPS Suceava will even play against the favorite Player Bucharest, on April 3 away, and on April 17 at home.
