Difficult rescue mission, in Vâlcea county. A missing person was searched for hours yesterday, after he allegedly fell into the Olt river, in the area of ​​the Gura Lotrului dam.

Several firefighters and divers arrived urgently at the scene, where they crossed the river in boats and at depth. Rescue crews searched for the woman until nightfall, but were unable to find her. In the end, the rescuers had to withdraw because of the darkness, but they will resume the search this morning.

According to ISU Vâlcea representatives, the request came through 112, around 5:00 p.m., and forces from the Brezoi Fire Station were sent to the area, with an intervention vehicle and a vehicle for operational work by boat. At the same time, a medical crew of the County Ambulance Service was sent to the scene and the Hidroelectrica dispatcher was also notified.

The representatives of the Vâlcea Police stated, however, that the woman is not currently reported missing, the one who notified the authorities was a family friend who noticed the young woman’s car near the dam.
