No more trips every two months to the Health Insurance House to obtain a replacement certificate of the insurance card!

The validity of the certificate was extended until a duplicate card is issued, by an order of the president of the National Health Insurance House, published in the Official Gazette.

Until now, the validity of the certificate was only 60 days, and policyholders sometimes had to wait in lines for hours to pick up the document that allows them to benefit from free medical services, investigations and medicines.

The president of CNAS, Dr. Valeria Herdea, stated that the duration until the duplicate card is issued can exceed two months, and the insured can be put in the unpleasant situation of making repeated trips to health insurance companies. The certificate is issued in case of: loss, damage, theft of the original card or change of the identity data of the holders, compared to those written on the card. Certificates issued up to the date of entry into force of this order retain their validity period provided for in them.

CJAS Constanța representatives point out that people who have acquired the status of insured but have not received an insurance card do not need a replacement certificate, but can present themselves to any medical service provider. Last year, CJAS Constanța issued over ten thousand replacement certificates of the national card and less than four thousand actual cards.
