Problems with the payment of the trip by SMS: “I received the confirmations at 01.21 at night”. The Ploiesti TCE reaction

Paying by SMS for public transport trips in Ploiești proved, last week, to be an unpleasant experience for a reader of Observatorulph.ro. For three consecutive days, the person sent SMS, but did not receive the confirmation. This came in the night from Friday to Saturday, at a time when public transport was no longer running. Observatorulph.ro requested a point of view from the management of TCE Ploiești regarding the notification of the resident of Ploiești.

A reader of Observatorulph.ro had an unpleasant experience when he wanted to pay by SMS for the trip with public transport in Ploiesti.

Last week, for three consecutive days, after sending the SMS, he did not receive the confirmation for the payment of the trip.

Instead, on the night from Friday to Saturday, he received the payment confirmation for the trip, but at that time, 01.21, no public transport was running.

“Line 1 ticket has been activated. Valid until 02.22 in 23.03.2024. Price: 0.45 EUR+VAT”was the first message received by the Ploieștean, and only a minute apart he received two other similar messages.

“Last week, I sent three SMSes, in three consecutive days, to pay for the bus trip on route 1. During the three days, I did not receive confirmation of the SMS messages. For all three messages sent, I received confirmation at 01.21, when no means of transport runs in Ploiești anymore.

I am aware that if there was a controller who was not understanding I risked being kicked off the bus and paying a fine as well. I just want there to be a bit of professionalism. I don’t want the money on SMS. There is a Romanian saying: “It goes like this”, but this is not correct”, supports the reader of Observatorulph.ro.

TCE Ploiesti: The SMS payment application works

Observatorulph.ro requested a point of view regarding the reported situation, in the context in which other people complained about the same situation.

“The SMS for the payment of the trip is sent by the traveler before boarding the public transport. Confirmation is awaited before boarding the bus.

If passengers boarded the public transport without waiting for confirmation, controllers can check the transmission of the SMS in the absence of confirmation and then the passenger is not considered to be traveling fraudulently.

The problem reported by the traveler can only be solved if he sends us a written notification sent to the TCE e-mail. If the race was not carried out, following the checks, TCE can return the value of the SMS sent”, stated Nicolae Alexandri, the general director of TCE Ploiești, who stated that the application was checked and there were no problems.
