Enrollment in the preparatory class begins on April 11. ISJ Sibiu has displayed the streets surrounded by schools

Enrollment in the preparatory class will begin on April 11, and as a first step, each educational unit and the school inspectorate have displayed the school constituencies and the proposed schooling plan, according to a press release of ISJ Sibiu.

The Ministry of Education has published the methodology for enrolling children in primary education for the 2024-2025 school year, approved by OME 4.019 of March 15, 2024, as well as the calendar related to this process. At the level of Sibiu county, a number of 256.03 classes were approved, for an estimated number of 4978 students.

The preparation of the enrollment process began on March 25, 2024, when each educational unit and the school inspectorate displayed the school constituencies and the proposed schooling plan.

Between April 11 and May 14, 2024, parents/legal guardians/legal representatives will complete/submit/send the registration-type applications. Applications can be sent online, by post or email or submitted to the educational unit where they request to enroll their children. The validation of the requests is mandatory, by signing them either at the educational unit, or they will be signed and sent online by the parents, according to the specific procedure.

The first stage of enrollment in primary education will take place between 14 and 29 May 2024, in 4 phasesso:

– 14 – 17 May 2024: the processing by the national commission of the registration-type requests, with the help of the IT application and the distribution of the children to the constituency school;

– 20 – 27 May 2024: processing at the level of educational units, based on the information from the registration-type applications and from the documents submitted/transmitted by parents/legally established guardians/legal representatives, of applications requesting enrollment in an educational unit other than the school of constituency, on the vacant seats. The admission or rejection of their requests, at the level of the enrollment committee of the educational units, will be done by applying the general and specific tie-breaking criteria, the results of the German language knowledge test being one of these criteria for the students who want to pursue education in German mother tongue;

– May 28, 2024: the processing by the national commission of registration-type requests, with the help of the IT application and the assignment of children to an educational unit other than the constituency school

– May 29, 2024: display in the educational units and on the website of the school inspectorate of the registered candidates and the number of vacant places.

The second stage of enrollment in primary education (30 May – 21 June 2024):

The applications will be completed by the parents of children who were not included in any educational unit in the previous stage or who did not participate in the first stage;

– May 30, 2024: the communication, through display at educational units and on the inspectorate’s website, of the specific procedure for assigning children to available places, developed by the school inspectorate;

– May 31 – June 7, 2024: submission/transmission of the registration-type application to the secretariat of the educational unit in the first position among the three options expressed for the second stage;

– June 10 – June 14, 2024: validation of enrollment-type applications at the educational unit in the first position in the options regarding enrollment of children;

– June 17 – June 21, 2024: Processing at the level of educational units of registration-type applications submitted by parents/legally established guardians/legal representatives, applying the specific procedure developed by the school inspectorate, based on the general and specific tie-breaking criteria, within the limits of available places;

– June 21, 2024 – the display at each educational unit of the final lists for the preparatory class.

Between September 2 and 6, 2024, the centralization and resolution by the school inspectorate of the requests of parents/legally established guardians/legal representatives of children who have not yet been enrolled in any educational unit, on places available after the two stages, are foreseen.

At the level of Sibiu county, a number of 256.03 classes were approved (4.54 more classes than last year), for an estimated number of 4978 students (64 more students than last year). By types of education and language of instruction the situation is as follows:

Details regarding enrollment in the preparatory class 2024-2025:

– Children who reach the age of 6 by August 31, 2024 inclusive will be enrolled in the preparatory class. The enrollment process in primary education is not conditional on attending the large group of preschool education.

– Parents whose children turn 6 years old between September 1 and December 31, 2024, inclusive, can enroll their children in the preparatory class if their level of development is appropriate. In the case of children who attended kindergarten, enrollment in the preparatory class is done at the written request of the parents, based on the recommendation issued by the preschool education unit.

– The assessment of children’s development is carried out by the county centers for resources and educational assistance/Bucharest City Center for Resources and Educational Assistance (CJRAE/CMBRAE) only in the case of children who have not attended kindergarten or who have returned from abroad, for children who fulfill age 6 between September 1 and December 31, 2024.

– According to the primary education enrollment calendar, between March 28 and April 10, 2024, the assessment of the development of children who turn 6 between September 1 and December 31, 2024 (for children who have NOT attended kindergarten or returned from abroad) will take place and recommendations for enrolling in primary education (for children who have attended kindergarten) will be issued.

– The application form for enrolling in the preparatory class can be completed online, sent by e-mail, by post or submitted to the secretariat of the educational unit where the parent wishes to enroll the child.

– In the case of filling out the enrollment application online or sending it by e-mail or post, the parent will submit the standard declaration to the educational unit on his own responsibility regarding the veracity of the information entered in the application.

– The formation of student formations in the preparatory class is done after the registration process is completed, based on the procedure developed by the County School Inspectorate/of the Municipality of Bucharest and approved by the Board of Administration, respecting the criteria of transparency, fairness, non-discrimination and inclusion.
