ROMANIAN POLICE DAY – marked by Hunedor police officers in the middle of the community, through a series of public demonstrations

Romanian Police Day (March 25) was celebrated in through a series of demonstrations through which the Hunedoren policemen scored 202 years since the mountain ruler Grigore Dimitrie Ghica handed the first flag of the institution, which at that time was called Agie, to the great aga Mihăiţă Filipescu, a historical moment considered the birthday of the Police as a modern institution, in the service of the law.

The police scored Romanian Police Day in the hall Spiru Haret of the Hunedoara County School Inspectorate, where the police officers or the teams that won the various sports competitions organized on this occasion (football, shooting, chess, table tennis) were awarded.

The celebration continued with the promotion to the next professional grade, on or before the deadline, of 125 officers and police agents and culminated with the designation of the best police team, the best police subunit, the best rural police stations and, of course, a policeman of the year.

He was also publicly congratulated, receiving a diploma of excellence, a police officer who stood out for his exceptional professional activities and, above all, for his civic spirit. Is about APădurariu Marius-Iulian police chieffor the merit of having contributed – by applying first aid techniques, until the arrival of the specialized medical crew – to saving the life of an unconscious man, who had fallen on the road.

As every year, the best policemen were awarded, the criteria for evaluation being ethics, operativeness and professionalism with which they responded to the community’s requests.

Following the deliberations, the Șoimuş Rural Police Station was designated the best police station, the Geoagiu Station Police was designated the best police subunit, while the Criminal Investigation Service was designated “team of the year”.

The “policeman of the year” diploma of excellence was awarded to chief police commissioner LĂBAN VIOREL COSTEL (photo), deputy of the Hunedoara Municipality Police – an officer with over 24 years of operative experience in the structures of the Romanian Police and the coordinator of criminal investigation activities and forensic police from Hunedoara municipality.

The demonstration dedicated to the Day of the Romanian Police continued in the inner courtyard of the Children’s Palace, in Deva, where, starting at 11:00, the police officers presented some of the technical equipment and intervention vehicles of the IPJ (the mobile forensic auto-laboratory intended for the investigation of the of the place, with the digital photo-video technique, specialized kits, and the forensic equipment necessary to discover all types of trace categories existing in the criminal field, the special vehicles of the Road Service, the special vehicles of the Animal Protection Bureau and those of the Service for Special Actions), but also a stand presentation of the activity of the Crime Analysis and Prevention Department.

At the same time, the students of the school units in the municipality of Deva interested in pursuing a police career had the opportunity to receive information from the officers of the Human Resources Service regarding the educational offer of the educational institutions of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

Also on this occasion, the winning students of the national creative competition with the theme “School Safety”, organized in cooperation with the Hunedoara County School Inspectorate and CJRAE Hunedoara, were rewarded with diplomas.

Dedicated events Romanian Police Daythe 2024 edition, also included the officiating, at Monument to the Romanian Policeman (located in the precincts of IPJ Hunedoara), of a religious memorial service in memory of all Romanian policemen who fell in the line of duty, for the defense of the law.

The public activities dedicated to the Day of the Romanian Police aim to popularize the specific attributions of the institution and to promote among the citizens a civic behavior based on respect for the law and for the fundamental values ​​of the rule of law, which are defended by the police.
