Sibiu City Hall launched the tender for the rehabilitation of the Station Bridge. The works will cost an estimated 9 million lei without VAT and will have to be executed without the total closure of traffic.
According to the specification, the works include both repairs and consolidation at the level of the bridge’s infrastructure and superstructure, as well as interventions at the level of the bridge path, ramps and access stairs. Also, parking lots, access roads and a bicycle path will be set up on the left side of the direction of travel towards Gușterita, and street lighting will be installed both on the bridge and in the areas adjacent to the bridge.
The documentation developed for the tender proposes the utilization of the space under the passage through the arrangement of parking lots: in total, there will be 12 parking spaces from Coposu Bd. and 29 spaces from Calea Gușteriței.
The requirements also mention the construction of the metropolitan sewerage network and the rehabilitation of rainwater collection and sewerage systems, to ensure efficient water management in the area.
The specification also stipulates that the sidewalks will be equipped with ramps for the access of people with disabilities.
“The result of the works carried out according to the contract are the creation of a modern, pleasant area that provides safety in car and pedestrian traffic, the reorganization and arrangement of parking lots, the systematization of traffic, a modern image of the area”, the document also mentions.
The auction will take place on April 18.
The duration of the contract is set to be 3 months from the issuance of the order to start the works, to which is added a period of 2 months for the acceptance of the reception at the end of the works, including the necessary fixes. The warranty period is 60 months, and for road markings with two-component paint, the warranty is 24 months from the date of receipt to the completion of the work.
The purchase is not part of a project or program financed by European Union funds, the works will be supported by local budget funds.
The Railway Station Bridge falls into the “buildings of special importance” category, it has a length of 310.3 meters.

In the January 2023 meeting, the local Council approved the draft decision on “updating the technical-economic indicators for the investment objective “Rehabilitation of the Railway Station Bridge” in the Municipality of Sibiu”. According to the document, the City Hall requested the councilors to approve the amount of 14.4 million lei including VAT for the rehabilitation of the bridge, of which 10.7 million lei for construction and installation.
