British actor Ian Gelder, who played Kevan Lannister in the fantasy drama series Game Of Thrones, has died at the age of 74, five months after being diagnosed with bile duct cancer, according to DPA/PA Media .

“It is with immense sadness and a broken heart that I am posting here to announce the death of my beloved husband and life partner, Ian Gelder,” actor Ben Daniels wrote on Instagram.
According to him, Ian Gelder was diagnosed with bile duct cancer in December, and he died on Tuesday at 13:07.
“I took a break from all professional activities to take care of him, but neither of us expected it to happen so quickly,” actor Ben Daniels wrote.
Daniels said Gelder was his “rock” throughout their 30-plus year relationship.
“If we weren’t together, we talked to each other every day. He was the best, most spiritual and loving human being. He was a wonderful wonderful actor and everyone who worked with him was impressed by his heart and light. Honestly, I don’t know what I’ll do without him by my side”, said Ben Daniels, 59 years old.
Throughout his decades-long career, Ian Gelder has also played Mr. Dekker in “Torchwood: Children Of Earth,” Charles the erudite librarian in “His Dark Materials,” and Zellin in “Doctor Who.”
Ian Gelder also starred in the TV series “London’s Burning” and “Poirot”, as well as in plays on the West End and at the Globe Theater in London. (Source: Agerpres)
