The first trailer of “Megalopolis”, Francis Ford Coppola’s film, without really revealing anything about the plot, presents a spectacular two-minute scene in which the hero of this futuristic film appears, played by Adam Driver, reports News.ro.
Le pacte, the company responsible for the distribution in France, took advantage of the release of the first trailer of the movie “Megalopolis” to reveal in a press release the general lines of the script of what could make a sensation on the Croisette: “Megalopolis” is an epic Romanian set in an imaginary modern America in full decadence. The city of New Rome must change, which creates a major conflict between Caesar Catiline, a brilliant artist with the power to stop time, and archconservative mayor Franklyn Cicero. The former dreams of an ideal utopian future, while the latter remains firmly attached to a regressive status quo that protects greed, privilege and private militias. The mayor’s daughter, Julia Cicero, in love with Caesar Catilina, is torn between the two men and will have to discover what she thinks is best for the future of humanity.”
This “colisean” story was prepared for four decades by Coppola, who financed this fresco with his own money, worth 130 million euros, and which, according to the first indications, will plunge us into an America as modern, as imaginary.
As often happens with the director of the films “The Godfather” and “Apocalypse Now”, the cast will not leave anyone indifferent. Adam Driver will be joined by Giancarlo Esposito (Franklyn Cicero), Nathalie Emmanuel (Julia Cicero), Aubrey Plaza, Shia LaBeouf, Jon Voight, Jason Schwartzman, Talia Shire, Grave Vanderwaal, Kathryn Hunter and Dustin Hoffman.
