The American actor Kevin Spacey denies the new accusations of sexual assault

The American actor Kevin Spacey rejected the new accusations of sexual assault, before the broadcast next week of a documentary with the testimonies of several men who denounced the star’s behavior towards them, reports AFP.

In this documentary, entitled “Spacey Unmasked”, which will be broadcast in two parts – Monday and Tuesday – on the British channel Channel 4, ten men talk about the alleged indecent acts of the actor.

Last year, the “House Of Cards” star, a two-time Oscar winner for his roles in “American Beauty” and “The Usual Suspects,” was acquitted in a sensational trial in London of charges of sexual assault by four men.

In an interview with British journalist Dan Wootton, a former employee of the GB News channel, published online before the documentary aired, Kevin Spacey denied any illegal conduct.

“I take full responsibility for my past behavior and actions, but I cannot and will not apologize to anyone who made things up about me or exaggerated stories about me,” the actor said in the over an hour and a half video recording.

Spacey admitted to having sex with men “who thought they would advance their careers through a relationship with me,” but “I never told anyone that I would help them in their careers in exchange for sexual favors,” he defended himself with firmly, accusing Channel 4 of only giving him seven days to come up with his own version of the facts which, in the case of some of the people involved, date back almost 50 years.

Also accused of sexual assault in the United States, Kevin Spacey was declared innocent in 2022 by a civil court in New York. And in 2019, in another case, the charges against him were withdrawn.

These accusations, which appeared in the context of the MeToo movement, ended the career of the actor, who was then at the height of glory with his leading role in the hit Netflix series “House of Cards”.
