Well, now internet sleuths are speculating that Kate’s absence may have something to do with her husband and future King of England William having an affair. So I think we all know who the alleged other woman is. Say it with me: The Marchioness of Cholmondeley – what a beautiful name!”, Colbert said then.

Hanbury’s legal representatives confirmed the information

Hanbury’s legal representatives have confirmed that they have contacted the US show regarding these comments in a statement to In Touch, according to stirileprotv.ro.

“Apparently, the rumor recently entered the media as a result of another joke made about her on The Late Show With Stephen Colbert. We have written on behalf of our client to CBS and various other major media organizations to confirm that the claim is false,” Rose Hanbury’s legal representatives said.

In mid-March, Rose Hanbury denied rumors that she was having an affair with Prince William. “The rumors are completely false,” said the Marchioness of Cholmondeley, through a statement from his legal team, for the publication Business Insider.
