The man, aged between 25 and 30, allegedly suffered a series of side effects after drinking a full bottle of Jagermeister during an extreme competition based on alcohol consumption.

The man, who is believed to be between 25 and 30 years old, suffered a series of side effects after knocking down the entire bottle of Jagermeister during a dangerous competition of excessive drinking in Limpopo, South Africa, reports Mirror. The winner of the contest, the one who manages to drink the entire bottle of alcohol the fastest, received a cash prize.

Unconscious, the man was rushed to hospital for treatment, but soon died. According to the first information, the Limpopo police opened an investigation into the young man’s death, and the exact cause of death will be determined, as well as the circumstances that led to the tragedy.

“One of the participants collapsed immediately afterwards and was taken to the local clinic, where he was pronounced dead.” said a police spokesman, Brig Motlafela Mojapelo.

Excessive alcohol consumption, according to the independent alcoholic charity Drink Aware, means “Consume a lot of alcohol in a short time”, which can be extremely dangerous. The human body can only process about one unit of alcohol per hour – and less for some people.

“Drinking too fast can reduce the amount of alcohol in the blood. This puts you at higher risk for accidents, alcohol intoxication and other short- and long-term health problems. ”say specialists.
