The subsidy of 100 euros per hectare, the aid for the plant sector in the Ukraine crisis framework, enters the straight line. Within the Ministry of Agriculture, today, Thursday – May 9, Minister Florin Barbu himself communicated with the management team of MADR and the Payments and Intervention Agency for Agriculture (APIA) that the target for these payments is May 15.

The Minister of Agriculture, Florin Barbu, wants to pay the farmers the full amount of 100 euros per hectare, and on today’s agenda of the Government meeting there is also a memorandum for “Supplementing the limits of commitment credits and budget credits approved for May 2024 for the Ministry Agriculture and Rural Development”.

The Minister of Agriculture, Florin Barbu, has decided to pay the farmers the promised amount, that of 100 euros per hectare for crops established in the fall of 2022. The submission of applications showed that the registered requests exceeded the initially estimated ceiling, so that, at this moment , the estimated amount from the initial allocation was calculated at the APIA level at 78.09 euros per hectare. With this amount, simulations were also made on the software and amounts were entered into the system for authorization, but the payment will be made in full, after the supplement for the full payment of the 100 euro subsidy will arrive in the MADR accounts.

Payments will start around May 15th

Just today, Thursday – May 9, the Minister of Agriculture, Florin Barbu, sent internally that the procedure of addition and transfer from the Ministry of Finance, headed by Marcel Boloș, should be completed by May 15, when the authorizations can begin at the payment. In this way, not only the “jamming” of payments will be avoided, but also the avoidance of unnecessary costs for farmers and APIA when transferring two installments of money instead of one, if a partial payment were made and then a settlement of the difference.

We remind you that the aid of 100 euros per hectare is granted to all farmers for the areas cultivated with crops established in the fall of 2022. The support is paid on the crisis framework for Ukraine, with the deadline for payments being June 30.
