A Thai woman who worked for 17 years as a housekeeper for a French entrepreneur became a millionaire overnight. He inherited almost the entire fortune of 2.5 million euros after the French woman committed suicide, reports Bangkokpost.com.

Catherine Delacot, 59, was found dead on a sun lounger by the pool of her villa in Koh Samui, Thailand.

Thai media reported that the woman, who was suffering from an incurable disease, had a gun with a cartridge missing.

Following the investigation, the police came to the conclusion that it was a suicide.

Her housekeeper, Nutwalai Phupongta (49), became the heir to a large part of the woman’s fortune. Delacot had changed his will on 26 April, leaving a villa, land, a luxury car, money and jewelery to his faithful housekeeper. She went public before she killed herself, to remove any suspicions.

Also, before his death, Delacote transferred 12,600 euros to the housekeeper, to cover funeral expenses.

Nutwalai, known as “Aunt Tim”, received the fortune on one condition: to take care of the Frenchwoman’s 3 cats, which she “deified”, according to the housekeeper.
