“I never sang to be famous”

Narcisa Suciu says that she never wanted to be famous and she is glad that in Finland, where she moved for many years, not all people know her and she can have a quiet life.

“I never sang to be famous. I sang, because I sang when I was little. That’s what I liked to do. Simply, people were calling me to sing in various places.

That comes with notoriety, with the fact that the world knows you… That you become a person who lives in the eyes of the world, I would say a public person (n. ed. – avoids the term star). It was not an end in itself. This is exactly why it was very easy for me to settle in Finland. I didn’t necessarily want fame.

When I happen to notice that people recognize me, I try to be as normal as possible. I remember very well what it’s like to be a spectator or viewer. And then I think about what I like to see in people on TV and what I don’t like to see. I think it’s very important not to forget what it’s like to be a spectator”, said Narcisa Suciu.
