Arnold Schwarzenegger is recovering after undergoing his fourth heart operation. He was fitted with a pacemaker.

Arnold Schwarzenegger reported that he underwent a new operation. The 76-year-old actor, who has already undergone three open-heart surgeries, told his podcast, Arnold’s Pump Club: “Last Monday, I had an operation to become a bit more of a machine: I had a pacemaker put in. First of all, I want you to know that I feel great. I had the operation on Monday, and on Friday I was already at an event of environment with my friend Jane Fonda. No one could have said that’s how I started my week.”

After publicly thanking the doctors and nurses, the star said he gets a full check-up every year to see the condition of his heart. Arnold has a genetic heart defect.

Schwarzenegger had his first two surgeries in 1997, when his pulmonary and aortic valves were replaced. In 2018 and 2020 he went through the same kind of interventions again. He explained that the tissue that scarred from the operations resulted in irregular heartbeats. “I stayed in touch with my medical team and went for my annual check-up to see how my heart was doing. That’s life with a genetic heart defect, but you won’t hear me complain.”Arnold also said. “I can’t do my serious training in the gym for a while, but next month I will be 100% ready for the new FUBAR season”, Schwarzenegger also stated. In conclusion, he said that he wants to inspire others to take care of their health and listen to their doctors, and to encourage those who are in the same situation as him.
