Russia does not need Western help to investigate the attack at the Crocus City Hall concert hall, near Moscow, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said on Tuesday, denouncing that the West is acting on the basis of “double standards”, reports EFE, quoted by Agerpres.

“I’m sure we can handle this investigation on our own,” Lavrov said during a joint press conference with his Namibian counterpart, Peya Mushelenga.

Russia accuses the West of acting on the basis of “double standards”

In the case of accepting help from Western countries, they would act “clearly on the basis of a double standard, to promote” the version that suits them about the attack, said the Russian Foreign Minister.

The Western version is that Ukraine had “nothing to do” with the terrorist attack, which left at least 139 dead and more than 180 injured, he said.

In total, the Russian security forces detained 11 people suspected of being related to the attack, claimed by the Islamic State jihadist group, four of whom would have personally participated in the attack.

The Russian President, Vladimir Putin, saw on Monday the “black hand” of Ukraine in the jihadist attack at the Crocus City Hall concert hall.

“And the Nazis, as we know, never had any qualms about using the dirtiest and most inhumane means to achieve their goals,” he said during a meeting with members of the government and security forces, which was broadcast live on television.

Putin asked the Prosecutor’s Office for a “just punishment” for the terrorists who committed the attack

At first glance, Putin refuses to accept the hypothesis advanced by Western intelligence services, according to which the attack was committed by the Islamic State in Khorasan Province (ISPK).

“We know through whom this crime was committed against Russia and its people. We are interested in who ordered it,” he said.

Other senior Russian officials on Tuesday also invoked the alleged involvement of Kiev and Western countries in the tragedy, although they acknowledged that investigators have not yet identified all those responsible for the crime.

Putin on Tuesday asked the Prosecutor’s Office for a “just punishment” for the terrorists who committed the attack, in accordance with the legislation in force in the Russian Federation.

According to the latest official figures, the attack in the city of Krasnogorsk, located approximately 20 kilometers northwest of central Moscow, resulted in at least 139 deaths and 182 injuries.
