Titi Aur, specialist in defensive driving, explained what solutions exist if the Police stop you in traffic and want to do a drug test. This, in many cases, can give major errors.
The affected drivers thus risk receiving a criminal record, even if they have not consumed anything prohibited.
Large errors in drug test results
On social media groups, many discussions take place between drivers regarding this common traffic situation. Motorists are sharing their advice on Facebook groups about not accepting this drug test. They cite the large errors they can record.
For example, if you ate a poppy seed bagel, the test might signal that you had taken opium or something else. This can lead to the immediate opening of a criminal case.

Excessive testing of drivers can waste money and overburden the judicial system with false negative results. This often happens when they test positive due to eating common foods. It is the case of a pretzel with poppy seeds, a candy with liqueur or a horn with champagne.
Titi Aur for telling what drivers should do in such a situation.
“My recommendation is this: The driver should tell the policeman, in a very polite and very nice tone, that he wants to take tests at the hospital, that he does not accept the test, because he believes that the tests have an error.
Moreover, if this test comes out positive, the policeman is obliged to take away his license until his blood test comes out, which can appear even after 1 year”, Titi Aur told DC News.
Titi Aur’s advice to avoid testing
He said that if he were in such a situation, he would approach it politely and clearly. Titi Aur said she would explain to the policeman that she was not comfortable with the test he was proposing.
He will explain that it is about the potential errors and that it is not the policeman’s fault. He would suggest getting blood tests done to get accurate and definitive results.
“If he stopped me for the control, ok, I’m fine going to do the blood tests. This is the only solution!”, said Titi Aur.
He said that in order to comply with the law and protect oneself, it is important to communicate that testing is not being denied. The driver must, however, suggest that the tests be carried out in another way, more precisely through blood tests at the hospital.
“That’s it, we waste time, but we go to the hospital and when the test results come, we see exactly,” Titi Aur said.
