“We were all in supermarkets on the occasion of Easter.

I saw how much a liter of milk costs. We find prices from 6.5 lei to 20-25 lei.

But how many of us know how much a liter of milk goes from our farms to be sold in the supermarket?

Personally, I greatly underestimated this price!

I was amazed to find it at the farm of the Ghidim family, Mărgineni village, in Șara Făgărașului: 1.9 lei!! GOOD PRICE, compared to under 1 leu or 1.2 as it was until now!

The hard-working and ambitious people from Șara Făgărașului, such as the Ghidim family, are stubborn to continue the farm with 120 cows, 114 more than six years ago, as well as the installments for the tractors bought to replace the lack of labor in the area! How? With work and perseverance, with solutions found to compensate for this extremely low price! Mocking! I only give the surplus to the collectors, otherwise they would have gone bankrupt a long time ago. They chose to sell the milk in dispensers in the markets of Făgăraş and reach their customers directly, with products derived from milk: cheese, yogurt. Which the family also consumes. The solution to support small producers? Naturally, a minimum purchase price, but anti-competitive practices are discussed.

And then the solution, in my view, lies in the imposition of an upper limit of the commercial addition! A ceiling on the addition that would also come to support us, the consumers. My question is why such a measure was not taken by the Government?

Because you don’t want to. Simply! Small producers must be helped! It is a desideratum related to the food security of our country!

I will return to the farm in Mărgineni with my children, to raise awareness of the work behind the bottle of milk on the shelf!”, says Ana Loredana Predescu.
