Being in Iași on Friday, Rareş Bogdan, the first vice-president of the liberal formation, compared the situation of the PNL two years ago, when Nicolae Ciucă took over the leadership of the National Liberal Party, with the situation at the moment. Today, “no opinion poll drops us below 25%,” says the PNL MEP.
The first vice-president of PNL, Rareş Bogdan, said on Friday, in Iasi, that two years ago, when President Ciucă took over the leadership of the political formation, the party was in a “critical, difficult” situation.
Difficult situation, “after a festival of democracy”
“Two years ago, when President Ciucă took over PNL, the party was in an extremely critical, difficult situation, after a festival of democracy that was tougher than the battles with PSD, PDSR, USR, and all the forces.
They only managed to create so many problems for us when we fought each other, because, being very strong, it looked like a gigantic battle. I hope this will never happen again and that the democracy festival from that time will be definitively forgotten for the history of the future”, said Rareş Bogdan at the launch of the PNL candidates in Iasi, quoted by news.ro.
According to him, “the party had 14% in the polls, and the best polls gave them 14%.”
“We’ll do a double score”
At the moment, as can be seen from the words of the liberal first vice-president, the polls show something completely different, in the sense that the PNL would no longer be below 25%.
“Today, a man who has access to all the polls and who receives polls every two or three days informs you that no opinion poll drops us below 25%, and if the good Lord helps us, we will score exactly double from the moment two years ago. But for this, please only one thing, don’t rest at all, sleep 5, 6 hours a night, walk and campaign for mayors, for councilor lists, for Costel Alexe, to have a victory and crush the opponents, for Mihai Chirica, to be enthroned again as a meritorious mayor of Iași. Only with your help can we do this, no matter how much we, the national leaders, talk from Bucharest or anywhere else”, he said on Friday.
Also in this context, Rareş Bogdan also stated that he only wishes that on June 9, in the evening, he could announce a number of town halls that would exceed the current number.
“I want nothing more than to announce enough County Councils and above all a political score, on the list of county councilors, which will place us where we belong”, Rareş Bogdan also declared.
The liberal called for mobilization among party colleagues, before the June election race. “If we mobilize and do the right thing in these 30 days, we will win the elections right now, on June 9, but we have to work for it, we have to believe in it,” said Rareş Bogdan.
