Payments of over 80 million euros were made by APIA (Agency for Payments and Intervention for Agriculture) and AFIR (Agency for Financing Rural Investments) between 8-10 May 2024.

APIA made payments for 2023 of 333,712,555.81 lei

Between May 8 and 10, 2024, the Payments and Intervention Agency for Agriculture (APIA) made payments for the 2023 application year in the total amount of 333,712,555.81 lei (the equivalent of 67,110,538.76 euros), as follows:

  • 320,986,417.16 lei (64,539,341.94 euros) from the National Budget (BN);
  • 10,118,052.05 lei (2,044,257.41 euros) from the European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development (FEADR);
  • 2,006,042.44 lei (405,302.04 euros) co-financing from the National Budget (BN1);
  • 602,044.16 lei (121,637.37 euros) from the European Union Recovery Instrument (EURI).

The paid interventions are related to:

  • Transitional National Aids – plant ANT (ANT 1, 4, 6 and ANT 9),
  • zootechnical ANT (ANTZ 7 and ANT 8),
  • Measures 10 (Package 1, 2, 3, 4, 6, 7
  • Package 9 version 9.2.1)
  • Measures 11 (Submeasure 11.1 – Package 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 and Submeasure 11.2 – Package 1, 3, 4, 5)
  • Measures 13 (Submeasure 13.1 and 13.3).

For the 2023 Campaign, payments for interventions financed from the European Agricultural Guarantee Fund (EGF) and the National Budget (BN) are made in lei, at the exchange rate of 4.9735 lei/euro, while payments for the measures/interventions financed from the European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development (EAFRD) is calculated at the exchange rate of 4.9495 lei/euro.

And AFIR paid 13 million euros for the animals

Regarding the payments made by the Agency for Financing Rural Investments (AFIR), from FEADR, they amount to more than 13 million euros and are intended for animal welfare.

The beneficiaries of the European funds granted through the Agency for the Financing of Rural Investments received non-refundable funds in the total amount of 13.26 million euros. The payments were made by AFIR in the installments of May 8 and 9, 2024 for the settlement of expenses related to the DR-06 Animal Welfare intervention.

Thus, AFIR paid 6.7 million euros to farmers who benefited from pig welfare payments (DR-06 Package A), as well as 6.56 million euros to farmers who requested compensatory payments for bird welfare (DR-06 Package B).

Of the total amount paid by AFIR to farmers’ accounts, 11.27 million euros come from the European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development (FEADR), and the difference of 1.99 million euros represents the contribution from the National Budget.

We remind you that non-reimbursable public funds are granted following the verification and payment authorization by AFIR experts of the expenses incurred, based on the payment requests received from the beneficiaries of the European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development (FEADR), in accordance with the concluded financing contracts, such as and with the commitments assumed.
