Robert Kennedy Jr., the grandson of the former American president John F. Kennedy and an independent candidate for the presidency of the United States, suffered from serious health problems due to a parasite that entered his brain and destroyed part of it, the New newspaper wrote on Wednesday The York Times, following a detailed investigation, reports AFP.

Robert Kennedy Junior is the son of former Attorney General and Democratic presidential candidate Robert ‘Bobby’ Kennedy.

According to the New York Times, Kennedy Jr., aged 70, suffered from significant sequelae related to the presence of a parasite in his brain, reports Agerpres.

The revelations are based, among other things, on a deposition of Robert Kennedy Jr. in a divorce, consulted by the press.

In this document from 2012, Kennedy Jr. states that doctors diagnosed that “a worm entered his brain, gnawed a part of it and died.”

The man also said that because of this he had ‘obvious cognitive problems’, as well as ‘a loss of long and short-term memory’.

Asked by AFP, a spokeswoman for the candidate confirmed that Robert Kennedy Jr. “contracted a parasite” during a trip “to Africa, South America or Asia.”

“The problem was solved more than ten years ago and he is in very good physical and mental condition today,” Stefanie Spear said, adding: “It is ridiculous to question Mr. Kennedy’s health when let’s see who he faces” – a barely disguised allusion to Joe Biden, 81 years old, and Donald Trump, 77 years old.

According to the New York Times, Kennedy was also the victim of mercury poisoning, which can also cause neurological problems.
