Brunson has been irrepressible, averaging 31 points since the All-Star break with a usage rating (35.5 ) that would match Luka Doncic’s season-long mark. Role players Anunoby, Hartenstein, Josh Hart and Donte DiVincenzo have gritty complements. And while we don’t want to put too much weight on the In-Season Tournament, the Pacers did shrink with the NBA Cup on the line in Las Vegas. This stage is even bigger.”

Kurt Helin writes: “If Haliburton can find his pre-injury form — even just for a couple of games — then this quickly becomes a six or seven-game series. Peak Indiana and peak Haliburton can play with New York, but he hasn’t t consistently been the same since his hamstring injury. New York is playing too well right now, and this is just not a great matchup for the Pacers.”
