AGISTA completed its entry into Centrokinetic’s shareholding in the fall of 2023, when it acquired a stake of more than 35% of the medical chain, with the objective of supporting the development of the clinic network and helping it expand by at least 10 clinics in the next four years.

In seven months, the Centrokinetic network expanded with 5 clinics nationwide, ending up currently owning 4 clinics in Bucharest, 2 in Brașov, a clinic in Cluj-Napoca and 1 in Timișoara.

“This purchase is part of the strategy assumed together with the Centrokinetic management – namely that of national development, equally with preserving or even improving the quality of the medical services offered. We are glad to have contributed to the completion of this acquisition for several reasons: on the one hand, because we are talking about one of the best medical recovery clinics in Timișoara, and on the other hand, because this acquisition opens up other opportunities for us of expansion in the western part of the country”, says Dragoș Dărăbut, Senior Investment Manager AGISTA.

Centrokinetic, a clinic brand specialized in the recovery of motor disorders, both orthopedic and neurological, was controlled, prior to this transaction, by the doctor Andrei Ioan-Bogdan, with 87% of the shares.

The transaction completed now provides for Centrokinetic to reach a holding of almost 70% of the clinic’s shareholding, and one of its founders, Dr. Armand Gogulescu, to remain with slightly more than 30%. The plans for the near future of the clinic in Timișoara include improving the business by purchasing new equipment (especially MRI) and by hiring more doctors, Centrokinetic will also invest capital in the Socrates clinic.

“We created Socrates Clinic out of the desire to offer the people of Timisoara quality medical services in the city. The association with Centrokinetic came from the realization that we share common values and principles, which we hope will take us to the next level of growth”, said Armand Gogulescu, founder of Socrates.
