Trade unionists from the National Federation of United Local Police Unions announce a protest in front of the Romanian Government for Wednesday.
Local police officers demand the application of legal working conditions, compliance with the food norm and money for days off.
The National Federation of the United Unions of the Local Police Romania, affiliated to the National Trade Union Bloc, shows that the protest will take place on Wednesday, between 10 a.m. and 1 p.m., in front of the Government of Romania, the rally being approved by the Bucharest City Hall.
The National Federation of the United Trade Unions of the Local Police Romania requests the application of the working conditions, provided by the Law of the Local Police no. 155/2010, for local police officers; awarding the values of the mandatory food standards for local police personnel according to MDPLA Order no. 893/2023, OG No. 26/1994 and HG no. 1474/2009 and granting financial compensation to local police personnel for work performed on weekends and public holidays. The trade unionists also demand the modification of the provisions of GEO no. 63/2010, in the sense of replacing the phrase “1 post/1000 inhabitants” with “1 local police officer/1000 inhabitants”.
According to the NBS, at the beginning of December 2023, the National Federation of United Local Police Unions started a public campaign to draw attention to the importance of the existence of local policemen in society, through the campaign entitled “we exist”.
