Zelensky, on the verge of death. Two of his security officers had orders to assassinate him.

The plans were to be implemented by a network of agents, which was previously exposed by the Security Service of Ukraine (SSU) and the State Security Administration (SSA).

The network, whose activities were monitored by the FSB intelligence service in Moscow, included two SSA columns that leaked secret information to Russia.

One of the tasks of the network recruited by the FSB was to find perpetrators among the military close to the security details of the president’s travels in order to take him hostage and then eliminate him.

In addition to Zelenskiy, the Russians planned to remove SSU chief Vasil Maliuk, Defense Intelligence Service (DIU) chief Kirilo Budanov and other high-ranking officials, according to European Pravda.

Vasil Maliuk, head of the SSU, said that a limited number of people knew about this particular operation to expose FSB agents, and he personally oversaw its progress.

“The attack was supposed to be a gift to Putin at the inauguration of his new mandate,” Maliuk said.

The agents were to kill DIU head Budanov before Easter.

The recruited agent was to observe the president’s movements and pass information to the FSB.

The coordinates of the official’s location were to be used to launch a missile attack. Then they would attack with a drone and another missile to eliminate everyone in the president’s entourage.

The agent was to be armed by an SSA colonel who would personally take FPV drones, RPG-7 payloads and MON-90 anti-personnel mines to Kiev.

The SSU recorded both the colonel’s trips to another region of Ukraine to obtain the drones and explosives, as well as conversations between the suspect and the FSB officer coordinating the operation.

Representatives of the Russian Federal Security Service chose as the target of the attack a private house in the Kiev region, where the high-ranking official was supposed to stay.

However, such intentions were exposed and documented in due time by Ukrainian law enforcement agencies.

This prevented the operation from being completed and the suspects were apprehended. Searches of their home turned up evidence of criminal activity.
