“I was in Spain and I noticed several different behaviors in Spanish drivers compared to those in Romania. It doesn’t honk, it doesn’t go with the breakdowns that “stay for 5 minutes”. Where is the difference?”, asked the producer of the DC Conducem show, Florin Rădvan.

The specialist explained that most problems in Romania could be solved if the methods of education and coercion were better synchronized. Moreover, because the state officials and employees who are responsible for the construction or placement of pedestrian crossings, parking lots, etc. also come from the general population, such a measure presented by Titi Aur could also help the development of the public sector:

“The difference is made by the involvement of the state, the authorities in the two systems I’m talking about, only me. Education and coercion, intertwined. Only with education you partially solve, only with coercion you partially solve because you only fine or arrest the terrible ones. In a well-knit system, all that is left to do is educate and form the clean system. When you have educated drivers, drivers who are afraid of fines, drivers are also part of the rest of the authorities, and when they drive their personal car outside of work, otherwise they think of a road, otherwise they make a pedestrian crossing. There are a lot of things that can be corrected here from scratch”, explained Titi Aur, for DC Conducem.

Dynamic speed limiter

Titi Aur spoke about a problem in Ploiesti, where the stripes on the road should be delimited differently, so that the maneuvers made by drivers are more effective, but, although the solution would be simple, nothing is done. He also talks about the fact that Spain has adopted dynamic speed limiters that relate to the current state of traffic:

“If in the town hall, if in the local authority of Ploiești there were some citizens who, driving the car, would also understand the traffic system, it would be good. Otherwise they manage, not all die, most do. Statistically speaking, our authorities are right. When you put on paper that 4 die, but you see that 9 million are circulating…

But it’s not like that. There are things that can be solved. Spain does things. It has those smart traffic lights that I’ve known for 10 years, long ago. They are placed in the locality and when the traffic is freer, the one driving in Spain finds out that he cannot go faster. It’s a simple job. If 15 years ago it was a little more complicated, today it is even simpler. It would be a great investment, instead of installing radars (the PNRR is planning to purchase 1,000 radars). I suspect that they will not be bought or that there will be an attempt in the last month of 2026 to take them”, concluded Titi Aur, for DC Conducem.
