A 38-year-old man lost his life following the impact between his car and a train, on the very first day of Pasi. According to the authorities, the man allegedly ignored the acoustic signals and was hit in full force.
The unfortunate event took place on Sunday, a day dedicated to the celebration, turning joy into a period of mourning for the victim’s family and loved ones.
According to the information provided by the authorities, the tragedy happened on DN 14, at kilometer 27, at a level crossing with the railway located between Sibiu and Mediaș, between the towns of Ruși and Șeica Mare.

Following the violent impact, the utility vehicle was thrown off the road and the man remained trapped in his vehicle.
Rescuers arrived at the scene and found the victim in critical condition, in cardio-respiratory arrest. Despite all the efforts made for resuscitation, the man’s life could not be saved, the doctors immediately declared death.

” Three SMURD crews went to the scene, one of them with a doctor and the emergency doctor’s car. The 38-year-old man was in cardio-respiratory arrest, unfortunately, despite the efforts made, he did not respond to resuscitation maneuvers, the doctor present at the scene declaring death “, stated Raluca Marcu, Spokesperson of ISU Sibiu, according to novatv.ro

“From the first investigations carried out, it emerged that, while driving a van from Mediaș towards Sibiu, a 38-year-old man from Alba county, alone in the car, would not have respected the meaning of the red color of the traffic light installed at the crossing, entered the railway and was hit by a passenger train traveling from Sibiu to Mediaș. The vehicle was thrown off the roadway.
Unfortunately, the driver died as a result of the impact. The passengers on the train and the train driver, a 64-year-old man from Cluj County, did not suffer bodily injuries.” according to IPJ Sibiu.
According to official statements, the train driver and passengers were not injured in the tragic incident.
