Denis Drîndă, a 21-year-old young footballer, died in a traffic accident that took place on Friday afternoon in the area of ​​Băiţa, in Hunedoara county. Denis was in a car driven by another young man, who had been drinking.

According to the Hunedoara County Police Inspectorate (IPJ), the accident occurred after a 23-year-old man, who got behind the wheel of a car while drunk, lost control of the direction of travel in a left turn and drove the car into a protective parapet on the side of the road.

“As a result of the road incident, a 21-year-old man died and three other people were injured. The driver was tested with the breathalyzer, which indicated a value of 0.54 mg/l of pure alcohol in the exhaled air”, the quoted source said.

The 21-year-old was a licensed footballer at CSO Retezatul Hațeg.

The Hunedoara County Football Association sent a message of condolences after the young footballer lost his life.
