PSD deputy Laura Vicol, president of the legal commission, announces that the Romanian president promulgated today the amendments to the legislation on the protection and promotion of children’s rights. “Everything I did on this project, I did it with a reconciled soul. I took it upon myself to be a target, because I needed a good project. Only with a good project could we put an end to the long series of sufferings”, says Vicol.

The President of Romania promulgated today the amendments to the legislation on the protection and promotion of children’s rights. After months of hard work, together with parents, specialists, fellow parliamentarians, we have reached the end. To a happy ending. I say. To a project now coming into force which I hope will relieve much of the suffering which has been created these years by bad legislation.
I strongly believe that our role, as politicians, is to do the right thing at the right time.
In the past months, I have been the target of unfair attacks, which have caused me enormous pain as a mother. As a mother who understands to the depths of her soul what it means to miss and love children. And no one can take that away from me.
