According to Newsweek sources, Matei Păun brokered the purchase of the Getica company from the Russians, this company being the one from which the mayor rented the space to put up the respective billboards from the electoral campaign.
“It is a company from the Romanian market, with which I have a contract with the market price to put up some panels”, said Nicușor Dan.
Also, according to the investigation, Matei Păun’s company financed the purchase of this paneling company, from a Russian state bank VTB.
The mayor claims he has no knowledge of these connections.

Dan Cristian Popescu, from the social democratic party, contradicts Nicușor Dan and claims that, in fact, the information is true.
