Supernova Group modernizes the former Cora shopping centers in Bucharest Lujerului and Constanța Brătianu and reopens them under the Supernova identity. The renovated centers will be known as Supernova București Lujerului and Supernova Constanța.

New international brands have been inaugurated in both centers and many more are already planned to join them in the near future. A point of attraction is the new Carrefour hypermarket, completely renovated and modernized, which until now operated under the Cora brand. Major renovations to the indoor and outdoor facilities of the centers have been undertaken and will continue to ensure the best customer experience.

In total, Supernova Group operates seven centers of which six centers under the Supernova brand in Romania; the inauguration festivities will begin at Supernova București Lujerului between June 6 and 9, 2024 and at Supernova Constanța-Brătianu between May 16 and 19, 2024.

Markus Pinggera, Managing Director at Supernova Group, said they are looking forward to offering the communities of Bucharest and Constanța two modern shopping centers that redefine the shopping experience.

He mentioned that they have fully assumed the mission of bringing added value to Romanian consumers through the works carried out on the internal infrastructures, the optimization of the spaces, the provision of premium services and the expansion of the commercial offer.

He emphasized that they do not want to stop there, but are committed to continue the rebranding process.

Supernova entered the Romanian market in November 2020

Supernova entered the Romanian market in November 2020, by taking over the Jupiter City shopping center in Pitesti, which has since been rebranded and completely renovated.

In addition, Supernova Group acquired six more shopping centers in 2021, located in:

  • Bucharest (three locations)
  • Constant
  • Bacau
  • and Drobeta Turnu Severin

These centers were previously anchored by Cora hypermarkets, which are now taken over by Carrefour Romania under its own brand.

The Austrian Supernova Group is an international company that focuses on the development and management of commercial real estate in:

  • and Slovakia

The group’s current portfolio includes over 110 properties with a gross value of 2.2 billion euros.
