Sorin Grindeanu, Minister of Transport, announced that the TAROM restructuring aid was approved by the European Commission.

Today, the European Commission approved the TAROM restructuring aid.

According to the Minister of Transport, the maximum value of the aid is over 95 million euros.

“The European Commission approved the TAROM restructuring aid today! Its value is a maximum of 95.26 million euros, of which 49.53 million euros represents the individual rescue aid granted in 2020 (to which the related interest is added).

I want to thank the representatives of the European Commission for deciding to support TAROM, one of the oldest brands in the European aviation industry”, Minister Sorin Grindeanu announced on Facebook.

Sorin Grindeanu also mentioned that, through this aid, TAROM will renew the aircraft fleet, as well as the optimization of destinations and commercial policy.

This money will also be used to apply solutions to streamline aircraft maintenance activities, digitize the company and improve the IT environment, including ticket distribution programs and cover the liquidity deficit for 2024, notes Mediafax.
