The winning photos of the World Press Photo Contest 2024. The first, the European Singles winner, is hard to forget. I saw it in all the iconic photos of 2023 charts. I looked carefully at all of them, but as a photojournalistic achievement they are extraordinary and I am always amazed at the talent and inspiration of some photographers to capture such crucial moments. However, I would really like to see happier moments in the world.

Iranians sentence a rapper to death. He was critical of the government in music and on social media, particularly after the 2022 protests over the death of a young woman in police custody. Some photos of Athens under the Saharan dust. This is probably what the atmosphere would look like if we lived on Mars.

2024 Generation Students in America. Some entered university during the pandemic, without a high school prom, without physical classes. Now he is finishing his studies without a physical presence, after pro-Gaza protests blocked the campus. I wonder how such events will mark some generations.

Good hotels in Koh Samui.

London Foga gin and absinthe cocktail.

Avocado tester in a supermarket. Moulin Rouge has run out of steam. South Koreans have canceled an adult festival after widespread protests. Napoletini’s pizza looks good.
