At first glance, the fuel leak was the main cause of this plane crash. In such situations, the pilot is forced to stop the engine so that the plane is not engulfed in flames. Afterwards, emergency landing procedures begin.

In the present case, it can be said that the 50-year-old pilot was very lucky, because as can be seen from the images, the small plane overturned. Aviation experts claim that victims and even deaths are usually recorded in such incidents. The plane involved in the plane crash is ultralight, for which the pilot does not need special permits.

The pilot was very lucky

“Following a 112 call today, it was reported that a small plane had to make a forced landing. Fortunately, the pilot was not injured. The forced landing was caused by fuel leaks,” said the ISU Alba spokesperson. The pilot did not require medical attention and refused transport to the hospital.

A similar accident occurred in 2017 also in Alba county. Unlike today’s incident, the pilot was not as lucky. Seven years ago the businessman Zaharie Groza lost his life after having to make a forced landing due to wind gusts.

The businessman had only taken off for 10 minutes. Zaharia Groza was aware when the rescue crews arrived. The businessman died the next day at a hospital in Târgu Mureș, where he arrived with a SMURD helicopter. The investigation established that the small plane was not registered. Which means that Zaharia Groza didn’t even have a flight permit.
