Shocking case in Germany. A police officer died after he intervened with other colleagues to calm an altercation in a vegetable garden in the city of Bad Frankenhausen in eastern Germany, according to Agerpres. The agents were met by a violent teenager, the police announced on Saturday.

When they arrived at the scene of the incident, an 18-year-old man attacked those around him, hitting the policemen as well. One of them collapsed near the scene of the incident and had to be resuscitated. The 57-year-old policeman was taken to a hospital in the nearby city of Erfurt, where he died in the early hours of the morning.
The reason for the incident and the number of people involved are unclear. The State Bureau of Criminal Investigation took over the investigation.
