AUR: “The government is irresponsible” –

--

AUR parliamentarian, Florin Pușcașu, accuses the governing parties of not giving Romanians a correct picture of the country’s financial situation. The deputy showed that there are discrepancies between the budget deficit reported by our country and the percentages published by the European Commission. Florin Pușcașu stated that last year Romania made a loan of over 25 billion euros and accused the current government of spending the money in a non-transparent manner.

Florin Pușcașu- AUR parliamentarian
“Last year, Romania borrowed more than 25 billion euros. The deficit reported by the Ministry of Finance and publicly displayed on its website is 5.68% in conditions where the European Commission claims a deficit of Romania of over 6.6%. A difference of 1% is a manipulation that will not be useful either to the minister or to the Romanian government. Things will sooner or later be seen in all the consequences that this situation and this disastrous way of governing have caused. What the AUR party is doing is calling to account now in the campaign, in a context that we completely want. We cannot talk in a campaign logic only about achievements, without taking into account how effective were the expenses made by an irresponsible government that just wants to win elections, wants to hang on to power for the next years as well.”

The parliamentarian stated in a press conference held at the AUR headquarters in the municipality of Suceava that the government spent the money borrowed last year in a non-transparent manner.

“But things are all the more serious as there is no decision-making transparency on the part of the government regarding the use of this money. This money should mainly go to investments. We clearly see that investments in Romania are at a minimum rate, they go to current expenses, to cover holes and the deficit, which for us is a serious alarm signal that we are raising regarding the policies of this government. The standard of living is falling, inflation has increased a lot, the purchasing power of Romanians is in free fall. These are the elements that worry me and based on them I can criticize the government.”
