The man’s driver’s license was impounded

The police managed to identify the driver of the truck and immediately found that he showed obvious signs of intoxication. Consequently, they decided to give him a blood alcohol test, but the driver was so drunk that he refused to cooperate. According to the Highway Code, refusing to submit to a breathalyzer test is considered an admission of guilt, and the man’s driver’s license was suspended.

In addition to the legal consequences, the company the driver worked for was contacted to arrange the recovery of the truck. In addition, he risks a significant fine of up to 6,000 euros for his irresponsible behavior.

The local police made efforts to coordinate the traffic situation, as the recovery of the truck from the ditch required several hours of work with the help of a crane. Mayor Marco Schiesaro sent a clear message, stating that controls will be stepped up in agricultural areas to prevent such incidents and ensure the safety of all road users.
