Mayor Mihai Chirica will once again ask for the vote of the local councilors to grant the heating concession, this after three years ago, the former company that managed this service left with weapons and luggage, following a public scandal, and left everything in the hands of a dysfunctional administrations.

AUR deputy Marius Ostaficiuc mentioned that Mihai Chirica’s mayor’s office has already proven its inefficiency in this regard, especially after the investments promised in recent years were left to wait, and the local authority resorted to bank loans to cover its problems .

“Mihai Chirica told us that investments of tens of millions of euros have been made in recent years, investments that have increased the level of comfort of the people of Iași. It’s just that these investments are not only invisible, they were doubled by a new loan of several tens of millions of euros to ensure the fuel needed to deliver the heating agent.

This loan will bring other additional costs, of several million euros, a loan that the citizens of Iași will bear. In recent years, the calculations of the management of the Iasi City Hall have come to include several loans and not only to cover the needs of the heating system. We are talking about loans that the residents of Iasi will pay for years in a row, loans that so far have not been seen in large-scale investments. And this seems to be something normal for the current local administration”, said Marius Ostaficiuc, deputy of AUR Iasi.

The member of parliament from Iasi showed that Mihai Chirica owed Iași tens of millions of euros in order to gain notoriety, without taking into account all the things that led to the contracting of those credits.

“The current mayor always finds the solution at hand, the bank loan. This is what he recently did with the much-promised stadium, moved from Moara de Vânt to Bahluiului square, for which he contracted a loan of twenty million euros, to which another ten million euros were added for the modernization of two boulevards with which Chirica caught our eyes for years.

Therefore, the bull must be taken by the horns. It is clear that the heating system is not a toy, but the project must be dissected in the smallest details. The town hall is looking for a company that can cover the investments in the heating system renovation, a private company that can invest the necessary sums. Let it not happen in Iaşi like last time, when the former company that concessioned the service left after leaving holes in the budget, this after making a profit of millions of euros from the administration of the local heating system.
