A tragic accident took place on the A1 highway, near the town of Răteşti, on Tuesday, resulting in the loss of the life of a 38-year-old driver.

According to the information provided by Agerpres, the man from Argeș county was driving towards Pitesti when he lost control of the car, violently hitting the median parapet.

The representatives of the Argeș County Police Inspectorate stated that the impact was devastating, resulting in the death of the driver, who was alone in the vehicle. The authorities intervened immediately, and the emergency crews discovered the victim imprisoned in the car.

Despite all the efforts made by the firemen to save him, the man was found breathless. Road traffic was affected in the area, being directed to the first lane to allow investigations to be carried out.

“From the preliminary checks (…) it was determined that a car traveling towards Pitesti, driven by a 38-year-old man from Argeş county, in circumstances to be determined from the investigations, lost control over the direction of travel and collided with the metal slide. The impact resulted in the death of the driver, who was the only occupant”, announced the representatives of the Argeş County Police Inspectorate.

The doctors could not save the man

Crews from the Argeș Emergency Situations Inspectorate intervened at the scene, including two SMURD ambulances and an extrication vehicle. The rescue efforts were long, but unfortunately all interventions were in vain.

“The crews that arrived at the scene of the intervention found that there was an incarcerated person inside the car. The firefighters carried out maneuvers to extricate the victim, for whom, unfortunately, despite their efforts, they could not do anything,” said the representatives of ISU Argeş.

It is important to state that this tragedy underlines the importance of following the traffic rules and the need for increased attention at the wheel, regardless of the situation. Authorities are continuing investigations to determine the exact circumstances of the accident. It remains to be seen what the law enforcement officers will announce about this case.
