MEP Maria Grapini, member of the S&D group, was awarded, today, for her activity in the Export Council of Romania, on the occasion of marking 20 years of activity of the Export Council of Romania. It should be mentioned that Maria Grapini was among the founding members of this important Export Council two decades ago.

“I think it is the most effective form of public-private partnership that has contributed to the promotion of Romanian products and the growth of Romanian exports. I hope that all future governments will contribute to the CNE’s position and support Romanian companies to be present on the Foreign Market!”, stated MEP Grapini.

In her intervention, Maria Grapini mentioned that, in addition to the 20th anniversary of the establishment of the Export Council, the year 2024 is the year in which the company founded by her lordship – now led by her son – which today exports in 13 countries, will be 30 years old. This year, the MEP also said, the Coalition of Romanian Business Women’s Associations will complete 20 years of activity, an event celebrated in June in Timișoara.

Although she stated that, initially, she refused to enter politics, Maria Grapini mentioned, in her intervention, that she understood that, through public policies, you can do a lot of good for Romania.

In support of his statements, the MEP reminded those present that, in his capacity as rapporteur and negotiator with the Council and the European Commission, he negotiated the new Regulation of the Customs Code, important for our country.

“I am very emotional that, today, I met again my colleagues from the Export Council, all the employers. I also brought ANEIR and other patronages to the European Parliament. There is, in Brussels, the association of Belgian-Romanian businessmen, led by a Romanian, Dan Buniș, who left Timișoara. I put all the delegations of businessmen that I bring to Brussels in touch with this association. I am proud, as a founding member, that this body, the Romanian Export Council, is alive and I thank those from the public who supported it!”concluded Maria Grapini.
