AUR, in danger of not entering the elections. What minimum number of signatures do I collect per day? Simeon’s call

Like any party, AUR needs 200,000 signatures to register in the European Parliament elections.

In a post today, Simion says he will collect signatures in Alba county to set an example. He claims he needs 1,000,000 signatures in 9 days.

When someone asked him why he says he needs 1,000,000 signatures, given that the law requires 200,000 signatures to participate in the European Parliament elections, Simion explained: “Why 1 million? 5 X 200,000 must be collected, if the local elections also take place.

The pace of gathering signatures, poor

On April 7, we submit the signatures for the European parliamentary elections and starting from April 8, locality by locality, the lists for local councils (local governments)”, wrote Simion in a comment.

If the figures communicated by the AUR party are to be believed, there are reasons for concern for George Simion whether he has to collect 1,000,000 signatures in 9 days or 200,000 as the law says.

Thus, from monitoring the activity of the AUR, it appears that the party collects no more than 7,000 – 9,000 signatures per day, and until today it has collected a little over 115,000. At this rate, he risks not collecting the 200,000 signatures and not entering the parliamentary elections.

On Monday, AUR had collected 90,000 signatures.

A day later, on Tuesday, they had collected 102,000 signatures, a gain of 12,000 in one day.

Wednesday was a bad day and AUR only collected 8,000 signatures bringing it to 110,000.

On Thursday, AUR collected only 7,000 signatures, reaching 117,280.

AUR still has 9 days to collect 82,000 signatures, that’s 9.00 per day. In recent days he has collected less than this average.

In addition, when checking the lists, some signatures are invalidated, so it is risky to submit exactly 200,000 signatures.

George Simion refuses any discussion with Newsweek Romania for explanations

What is the explanation?

AUR’s impotence to gather signatures is very strange for a party rated in all polls at over 20%. There are several scenarios:

1. This is the reality (117,000 signatures collected), and the mobilization (for various reasons) of AUR was weak in the territory. Let’s not forget that AUR has no local elected officials, so no strong local branches capable of collecting signatures.

2. A bad strategy based on signatures taken from the online environment where AUR is extremely present. A strategy that did not bear fruit.

3. The figures presented by AUR and Simion are false and are nothing but a new episode of victimization. They would have collected the necessary signatures.

How much must the parties raise?

To enter the elections for the European Parliament, political parties and electoral alliances must present a list with the signature and personal data (name and surname, date of birth, name, series and number of the identity document) of at least 200,000 supporters, respectively 100,000 in the case of independent candidates. The deadline for submitting candidacies accompanied by the list of supporters is April 10.
