Huawei launches a new pair of affordable in-ear headphones with noise canceling

Huawei held an event in Dubai where it launched the Watch Fit 3, introduced two new laptops to the international audience and also introduced new color options for its wearables.

Freebuds 6i, the new affordable TWS headphones from Huawei, were also presented at the launch. They have a similar design to the Freebuds 5i predecessors, but come with larger batteries and improved noise cancellation.

Huawei also implements a new noise cancellation algorithm, Intelligent Dynamic ANC 3.0. It monitors ambient noises and adjusts the noise cancellation accordingly. The new headphones have a noise-filtering camera that detects voices and mid- and high-frequency sounds to filter them out.

In terms of specs, the Freebuds 6i retain the 11mm quad-magnet dynamic drivers, but are now 50% more powerful and Hi-Res certified. The case is exactly the same as its predecessors, while the earcups show minute differences.

The biggest change is in battery capacity. The Freebuds 6i retains the 55mAh capacity, but the case now has a 510mAh battery, 25% larger than last year’s Freebuds. That means you’ll get an extra two hours of playback on a single charge: eight hours with ANC off and five hours with ANC on. However, the larger capacity means a longer charge time, with the case taking 110 minutes to 100%, while the headphones will take 60 minutes to charge from 0 to 100%.

The headphones are also IP54 certified and can connect to any device via Bluetooth 5.3. There’s also seamless connectivity for devices running EMUI 10 and earlier, while any other Android phone can download AI Life from the App Gallery for more control options, such as the type of noise cancellation and gesture control.

Huawei Freebuds 6i come in three colors: white, purple and black. The company has yet to announce pricing and availability details.
