Samsung, once again the global leader in the TV market with a share of 30%

--

Samsung Electronics has maintained its No. 1 position in the global television market for the 18th consecutive year, according to market research firm Omdia.

Omdia reported that Samsung achieved a 30.1% share of the global TV market in 2023. This success is largely due to the company’s strategic focus on the premium and large-screen TV categories, supported by its flagship QLED models and OLED.

Since the 2017 launch of the QLED TV series, which also includes the latest Neo QLED models, Samsung has surpassed cumulative sales of 40 million units. In 2023 alone, the QLED series recorded sales of 8.31 million units.

The South Korean company also recorded an impressive 60.5% market share in terms of sales for TVs priced above $2,500, while maintaining a lead with a 33.9% market share for TVs with dimensions over 75 inches. In addition, thanks to the significant sales of the 98-inch models, TVs larger than 90 inches maintained their leadership, recording a market share of 30.4%.

Samsung has also made significant progress in the OLED sector. Its OLED TV series recorded sales of 1.01 million units in 2023, accounting for a market share of 22.7%. Also, with the expanded OLED lineup in 2024, Samsung’s market share in the OLED sector is expected to grow significantly this year.
